History — Your Character & Stats
The Six Stats
| Stat | What it does |
|---|---|
| STR Strength | Increases physical attack damage |
| ACC Accuracy | Improves your chance to hit enemies |
| DEX Dexterity | Increases evasion; harder for enemies to hit you |
| DEF Defence | Reduces incoming physical damage |
| INT Intelligence | Increases spell damage and your maximum Mana pool |
| SPI Spirit | Determines your maximum HP |
Levelling Up
Defeating enemies earns EXP. When the bar reaches 100% you gain a level, which increases your base stats and awards Stat Points. Spend Stat Points by clicking the attribute buttons that appear above the map whenever points are available. Higher levels unlock more powerful items and areas. There is no level cap — the realm keeps growing, and so do you.
Levelling Momentum
The journey accelerates as you climb. From Level 50 onward, every source of EXP — field kills, dungeons, raids, quests, objectives, the Tower, the World Boss — is multiplied by your Momentum band, shown as a green ⚡ chip on your stat panel:
| Levels | 1–49 | 50–99 | 100–199 | 200–299 | 300–449 | 450–599 | 600–799 | 800–999 | 1,000+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EXP | ×1 | ×2 | ×3 | ×4 | ×5 | ×6 | ×8 | ×10 | ×10, +2 per 200 levels |
Trailblazer's Echo
The realm's strongest adventurer lights the road for everyone behind them: all players gain +5% EXP per 100 levels of the highest-level character belonging to another player. The Echo grows automatically as the frontier moves — shown beside your Momentum chip as ★ Echo. (The leader themselves echoes the player closest behind — nobody is pulled along by their own light.)
The Per-Kill Ceiling
Every EXP bonus — Momentum, the Echo, the Realm Offering, dungeon modifiers, guild, essence and party bonuses — applies in full. Then one absolute ceiling applies at the very end: a single kill can never pay more than ⅛ of a level in the field, ⅕ in dungeons, or ¼ from raid bosses. Below the ceiling, every bonus is fully visible; at the ceiling, you are levelling as fast as the realm allows.
Valor
Valor is a secondary progression track earned exclusively through PvP combat — you gain one point each time you defeat another player. Every point of Valor adds a small percentage bonus to all six stats. Valor accumulates indefinitely and is shown in the Stats panel.
Death Knights and Necromancers have class traits that open extra Valor Channels — each channel multiplies Valor's bonus directly onto their primary stat (STR for Death Knights, INT for Necromancers). At high Valor totals this creates a significant power advantage, making sustained PvP the primary growth path for both classes.
HP, MP & Healing
Your HP (determined by Spirit) depletes in combat. If it reaches zero you die. Clicking Revive restores you to full HP and MP and automatically returns you to your Safehouse — no separate teleport step is required. Your MP (determined by Intelligence) is spent when casting spells; resting at an Inn restores both instantly.
Mana regeneration is a magick-class privilege. Magicians and Warlocks recover 5% of max MP per map step and 3% per combat round (Meditation — the well never truly runs dry); Necromancers, Minstrels, Paladins and Tamers recover half those rates. Martial classes regain MP only at Inns — their combat resource is the TP bar. Pure casters also pay 35% less MP on every spell.
Enemy Skills
Every creature in Crystaria carries a named signature skill — a Rat's Festering Bite, a Harpy's Shrieking Gale, an Iron Golem's Seismic Slam. Each combat round the enemy decides whether to unleash it, and a wounded monster grows bolder: the chance starts modest and climbs sharply once the creature drops below half, then a quarter, of its health. A desperate enemy is a dangerous one — finish fights decisively.
- Heavy strikes — brutal physical blows at well over normal damage. Your dodge and armour still apply.
- Elemental techniques — magical attacks that inflict the creature's Affliction on contact (see below). Resisted by Intelligence, softened by Spirit.
- Draining arts — favoured by the undead and spellcasters: the wound they deal feeds them, healing the creature for half the damage.
Each skill you survive is recorded in your Bestiary — until you've personally been on the receiving end, an enemy's entry shows only ???. Bosses carry hand-forged signature moves and reach for them far more readily than common creatures: expect the Void Sovereign's Crown of the Unmade World to come out early and often.
Afflictions
When an enemy lands its elemental technique, it inflicts an Affliction keyed to the creature's alignment — afflictions are earned by the monster's skill, never random chance:
| Affliction | Inflicted by | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 🔥 Burning | Fire techniques | Lose HP each enemy combat round |
| 💧 Bleeding | Unaligned techniques | Lose HP each enemy combat round |
| ❄ Chilled | Water techniques | −15% Dexterity |
| 🔨 Sundered | Earth techniques | −15% Defence |
| 💫 Dazed | Wind techniques | −15% Accuracy |
| 👿 Cursed | Dark techniques | −15% Intelligence |
| ⛔ Humbled | Light techniques | −15% Strength |
Afflictions last 45 seconds (re-procs refresh the timer; they never stack), and active ones appear as a red chip on your stat panel with their remaining time. The damage-over-time afflictions can never deliver the killing blow — they stop at 1 HP — but a Burning, Sundered fighter at 1 HP should think very hard about the next exchange.
Fighting Back — Elemental Weapons
The blade cuts both ways: an elemental weapon has a chance on every landed hit to inflict the matching Affliction on your enemy — Fire weapons set them Burning (and your Burn can deliver the killing blow), Water Chills their Dexterity, Earth Sunders, Wind Dazes their accuracy, Dark Curses, Light Humbles their Strength. Suddenly the element on your weapon is a tactical choice, not just resonance damage — a Dazed enemy misses more, a Humbled one hits softer, right when desperation makes them dangerous.
