Hotbar

The Hotbar is a persistent 10-slot action bar that sits below the combat panel. Each slot holds one action and is saved to your character between sessions. Activate any slot by clicking it or pressing its keyboard shortcut.

Slot types

Each slot can hold one of five action types — Attack, Spell, Weapon Arte, Ability, or (for casters) a Spell Fusion —:

  • Attack — your basic weapon strike. Always available on slot 1 by default.
  • Spell — any spell you own. Spell slots are colour-coded by element (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Light, Dark) with the MP cost shown on the slot face. Purchase spell scrolls from shops to unlock spells.
  • Weapon Arte — an Arte for your currently equipped weapon type. The TP cost is shown on the slot. If your TP is below the cost the slot greys out and locks — clicking it does nothing and wastes no turn.
  • Class Ability — one of your class's cooldown abilities. The remaining cooldown in seconds is shown on the slot while it recharges. A cooling-down slot greys out and locks so you can never accidentally spend a turn on an Ability that isn't ready.
Slots always show you what you can actually use right now. A Weapon Arte you can't afford greys out. An Ability on cooldown greys out. When the lock clears the slot lights back up.

Keyboard shortcuts

Keys 1 through 9 activate slots 1–9. Key 0 activates slot 10. The key number is shown in the corner of each slot. You can act without ever clicking the bar.

Editing your hotbar

Click ✎ Edit on the hotbar, or open Hotbar from the menu. The editor opens as a draggable floating window — position it anywhere on screen, the same way the Bag and Storage windows work.

The editor has two sections:

  • Current Slots — shows all 10 slots in a grid with what's assigned to each. Click on any slot to clear it.
  • Assign to Slot — lists every action you can assign: Attack, all spells you own (with element icons), Weapon Artes for your equipped weapon, and your class's Abilities. Pick a slot from the dropdown and click Assign, or drag any row directly onto a slot in the Current Slots grid.

The Weapon Artes section only shows Artes for your currently equipped weapon type. If you switch weapons, re-open the editor to see the new Arte list. If no weapon is equipped, that section shows a reminder instead.

Two Bars

Since Patch 2.7 you carry two ten-slot bars: Bar I on keys 1–0 and Bar II on Shift+1–0, with an [I·II] toggle on the combat bar and a bar selector in the editor. Cooling-down ability slots stay clickable (they grey out with a countdown; casting early is simply refused, so no turn is ever wasted) — only Artes you can't afford in TP fully lock.
