Runecrafting is Crystaria's 7th crafting discipline, introduced in Patch 3.0. It produces Catalysts — one-use consumables that boost the strength of a Runesmith's rune inscription.

Three Catalyst Lines

  • Weapon Catalysts — crafted from Volcanic Cinder (Ashfall Caldera).
  • Armor Catalysts — crafted from Phantom Ash (Echo Wastes).
  • Field Catalysts — crafted from Void Crystal (Blighted Expanse).

Recipes & Tiers

Twelve recipes total — each of the three lines comes in Basic (+15%), Refined (+30%) and Perfected (+50%) tiers, gated at Runecrafting skill 0 / 35 / 75 respectively. Refined and Perfected tiers additionally require rare dungeon boss materials — Dungeon Core, Ancient Shard or Void Relic depending on tier.

Anyone Can Craft, Only Runesmiths Can Use

Any class can level Runecrafting, gather the three zone materials, craft Catalysts, and sell them — they're a tradeable commodity like any other craft output. Only Runesmiths can actually consume a Catalyst, applying its bonus when they inscribe a rune from Character → Rune Slots.

Sundered Catalysts (Tier IV)

Since the Sundered Reaches opened, each line crowns out in a Sundered Catalyst — +70% potency at skill 92 — forged from the frontier's own bones: Spine-Stone, Star-Iron and Vitrified Shards, bound with Umbral Residue from the Umbral Deep.
