The Blighted Expanse (Level 1,160–1,400) is a void-corrupted wasteland at the edge of the known world — the mainland's highest zone — beyond it, the Sundered Reaches now climb to nearly 3,000. It's home to the Runesmith class unlock chain.

Town: Hollowed Reach

Hollowed Reach is registered on the Waystone Network. Archivist Vael (Runesmith unlock) and Historian Petra (story quests) are both stationed here.

Enemies

Eight enemy types haunt the Expanse: Runed Phantom, Blighted Soldier, Void Crawler, Oblivion Knight, Blight Reaper, Void Herald, the rare The Unraveled, and Null Archon.

Gathering: Void Crystal

The gather line runs Blighted Stone → Void Dust → Void Crystal → Corruption Ore → Ancient Void Shard. Void Crystal is the key material for Field Catalysts (Runecrafting) and feeds the Tier 5 Alchemy EXP potion.

Dungeon: Descent into the Expanse

Level 1,200–1,500, keyed by a Fractured Seal, with a 1.4× reward multiplier — the hardest overworld dungeon yet added. Final boss drops the Void Schism (Great Sword) or, on the rare variant, the Expanse Null Staff.

Story: What Was Left Behind
