Mimic

The Mimic is Crystaria's 15th class and a living archive. Instead of a fixed ability list, a Mimic builds its kit by absorbing fragments of the enemies it kills. Find the class unlock chain in Shaderest, the town at the heart of the Echo Wastes.

Unlocks at Level 850. Speak to Scholar Erevan in Shaderest and complete The Echo Within to gain the class.

The Echo Codex

Every enemy you defeat has a base 15% chance to leave behind an echo — a copy of one of that creature's abilities, recorded in your Echo Codex. Codex entries never expire and stack freely; manage them from Character → Echo Codex. You can slot up to 10 active echoes at a time — those are the abilities you actually bring into combat.

Echo Quality

Every absorbed echo rolls a quality tier that scales its power:

  • Standard — baseline power.
  • Sharp — +30% power.
  • Resonant — +60% power.

Class traits raise both your absorption chance (up to +11%) and your quality ceiling (up to +13%), so a well-traited Mimic absorbs more often and gets better rolls when it does.

45 Abilities Across 4 Tiers

Echoes are organised into four power tiers gated by your level. The three Patch 3.0 zones each guard an exclusive Tier 4 echo unavailable anywhere else — Caldera, Echo Wastes and Blighted Expanse enemies drop the strongest echoes in the pool. Echo Wastes itself has doubled absorption rates, making it the best grinding ground to fill out a fresh Codex.

Signature Abilities

Two abilities are exclusive to Mimic and don't come from absorption: Echo Mending (an HP restore) and Phantom Veil (+30% Dexterity).

Weapon: Echo Shard

The Mimic's dedicated weapon type is the Echo Shard — an INT/DEX primary, size-1 weapon. 30 named variants run from Level 1 to 1,400 — 32 shards in all.

What Mimic Doesn't Get

  • No Crystal Gates. The Echo Codex replaces the Gates entirely as Mimic's build-customisation system — opening Crystal Gates as a Mimic redirects you straight to the Codex instead.
  • Support Job cap is different. Where every other class caps a chosen sub-class at floor(main level ÷ 2), Mimic's cap is floor(main level ÷ 1.5) — a noticeably higher ceiling, in keeping with the class's "absorb everything" identity.

Unlocking Mimic

Speak to Scholar Erevan in Shaderest (Echo Wastes, requires Level 850). Complete four escalating quests — hunting Echo Shades, Phantom Beasts, Echo Drakes and the rare The Hollow — to unlock the class and earn the title Echo Master.
