Hotfix · A Young Age Settles Its Walls
⚒ Patch 4.4.1 — Foundations
August 2026
« All Patches
Landfall threw the gates open; the first week of the Second Age put every wall to the test. 4.4.1 is the week's answer — a faster realm on stronger foundations, two long-standing debts to the character sheet paid, and every launch-week report closed. Everything below is live.
◆ A Faster Realm
The world map opens instantly Fixed

A flaw in how the realm's tile records were stored had every map draw wading through nearly sixty duplicated copies of the same cartography — the pop-out world map took seconds to render, and every step taken in any world paid a small tax to the same fault. The archive has been purged and properly indexed: the world map now draws over a hundred times faster, and map renders across the Overworld, Underworld and Sky are all quicker for it.

The Underworld shows its true colours Fixed

The same fault had silently swallowed a colour pass the Underworld was owed — the deep reds of the lava fields, the violet of the crystal caverns and the crimson of its infernal towns have been rendering as near-black placeholders since the gates below first opened. The intended palette now paints every descent.

Swifter gates, stronger ground Fixed

The login page and game shell load substantially lighter — scripts no longer block the first paint, news images load as you scroll, and one particularly well-fed logo went on a diet. Beneath it all, the realm moved to stronger servers after launch-day crowds found the old ones' ceiling, and the game now rides out connection spikes gracefully instead of stuttering.

⚖ Balance
Luck earns its place on the sheet Balance

Luck now feeds critical chance — every strike, spell, Arte and Ability. It is a contest: your Luck weighs against your foe's, granting up to +10% crit chance when fortune is firmly on your side (a typical at-level fight adds +2–6%, by race). Enemy Luck pushes back the same way, so the charmed lands hit harder than the cursed ones.

Every race carries its own Luck line, and every existing character has been seeded with their race's true value — no rerolls, no resets.

No race starts behind Balance

Starter stat lines have been squared: every base race now totals the same 36 points across STR/ACC/DEX/DEF/INT/SPI — different shapes, equal weight — and every evolved race totals 48, a prize genuinely worth the pilgrimage. Existing characters of every level received the same adjustment, so the parity is realm-wide, not just for the newly forged.

◆ Quests & Loot
Bag-space rewards pay in full Fixed

Three deep-realm quests — Scales of Rime, The Stone That Walks and Husks of the Old Fire — carried +2 bag slots that were never handed over on turn-in. No one in the Second Age had claimed them yet, so no one was shorted; the vigilant adventurer whose hunch uncovered it knows who they are.

Quest items always show Fixed

Sigils and quest articles now appear in the Bag's Quest Items section even with a full bag — they never counted against your space, but they were hiding.

Dungeon gates tell the truth Fixed

Entrance cards now state each dungeon's real level band. Glimmer Caves was inviting level 1s into a level 30–75 den. It apologises.

⚔ Raids & Parties
No more ghost bosses Fixed

A raid floor could report its boss alive while nothing stood on the field, sealing the stairs forever — Caverns of Ruin, floor four, you were not imagining it. Floors now detect and restore a missing boss on their own, and a boss standing somewhere impossible is moved, never lost.

The relog ghost is exorcised Fixed

Logging out no longer leaves a lingering echo of you in your party — and logging back in no longer greets you with a burst of EXP you didn't earn from kills you weren't present for.

⚑ Launch Day, Squared Away
The first hour of the Second Age Fixed

Within hours of the Great Reset: reborn characters carrying pre-parity starting stats were re-seeded to the true lines, the New Adventurer guide's “place an Ability on your Hotbar” step learned to notice you had done exactly that, and tutorials were reset for everyone so the Second Age could teach itself from the first step.

★ Steam Client 1.0.1
Typing, fixed at the root Fixed

Dead text boxes — at launch, or mid-session after walking the realm — traced to the Steam Overlay's hooks into the client. The overlay is now disabled and the cause removed entirely: typing works the way it does in a browser, always. Achievements still unlock and record normally (the pop-up toast retires with the overlay); for friends and chat, alt-tab to Steam itself.

Fullscreen & a proper exit New

The client gained a Fullscreen mode — borderless, instant to alt-tab, remembered between sessions. Toggle it with F11 or under Game → Accessibility → Steam Client, where a Quit Game button now lives so you are never hunting for a close box. The update installs itself the next time Steam starts the game.
